Oral Food Challenges
Oral Food Challenge Appointments
Oral food challenges are scheduled, medically supervised visits designed to safely evaluate whether a child has outgrown or truly has a suspected food allergy. These appointments are conducted in a controlled setting with careful monitoring before, during, and after food exposure to ensure your child’s safety. Because these visits require extended time and preparation, they must be scheduled in advance and after a provider has reviewed the child’s history and, when appropriate, completed allergy testing (such as skin testing or blood work) to determine whether a supervised food challenge is safe and indicated at our office. Our team provides detailed instructions prior to the appointment to ensure the safest and most accurate results possible.
